Continuing medical education in Russia: what is already made and what are the path of development

AbstractThe article discusses the theme of the continuing medical education (CME) in two planes. It presents the analysis of development of CME in Russia and with another hand it provides the questions which need to be discussed with all concerned parties for the purpose of further effective development of CME. It is offered to create Council for СМЕ affiliated with the National Medical Chamber (NMC) which will resolve all these issues and to determine further development of CME in Russia. Authors emphasized that the representatives of all medical professional noncommercial societies have to be a part of Council for CME, including those, which aren't members of the National Medical Chamber yet. Within this council it is offered to create the department for assessment of compliance to the established standards of educational events and materials.
