Study of managerial competencies of healthcare middle managers as exemplified by heads of anesthesiology and resuscitation departments of multi-speciality hospitals

Distinctive feature of current situation in health care is lack of professionally trained, initiative, capable of long-term vision of tasks and methods of their solution personnel. Selection of applicants for healthcare middle managers position – head of resuscitation and anesthesiology departments of multi-speciality hospitals – is a complex task, one of the key topics of which is appointment of the best candidates with study of their business and personal qualities.

Aim of the work was to study managerial competencies of healthcare middle managers as exemplified by heads of anesthesiology and resuscitation departments of multi-speciality hospitals. The study included 156 heads of resuscitation and anesthesiology departments of multi-speciality hospitals (doctors from the reserve to the head position). The study was conducted in form of pedagogical experiment on the basis of Public Health аnd Health Care Department of the Biomedical University of Innovation and Continuing Education of Burnasyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center from January 2015 to January 2017.

Results. Empirical studies have shown that complex of training sessions aimed at the development of managerial competencies and strategies used in their implementation is an effective tool of healthcare middle managers managerial competencies development (head of anesthesiology and resuscitation departments of multi-speciality hospitals). And this training sessions also can be used in practical health care and for heads of other departments. The results of the study allow us to consider development of managerial competence of healthcare middle managers of multi-speciality hospitals as a manageable and effective process. Practical training for heads of anesthesiology and resuscitation departments of multi-speciality hospitals, as well as doctors from the reserve to the the head position, development of managerial competencies and strategies for their implementation as a system lead to development of each type and their integration.

Very often, marketing is understood only as advertising. However, this is one of the most important and complex structured elements of managing a modern medical institution. The article briefly describes the types of marketing, its stages, possible final goals and ways to evaluate results. The widespread practice of providing paid medical services in state medical organizations makes the proposed material relevant for them.

Realization of the priority project "Creation of a new model of healthcare organization providing primary health care"

Polyclinic of the Vsevolozhsk Clinical Interdistrict Hospital since February 2018 has been a member of the priority project "Creation of a new model of healthcare organization providing primary health care". In this article extensive work which was carried out in the following areas is described in detail: procedure room work optimization, optimization of adult population periodic health examination, drug reimbursement system optimization. Additionally, in 2019, among others, the following areas were chosen for work: medical transportation optimization; document flow optimization and service premises scavenger work optimization. And, taking into account the Presidential Executive Order N 204 dated May 7, 2018 On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Russian Federation through to 2024, the guidance of the medical institution has already identified main tasks for the period until 2024.
